It is a Native American Custom and Tradition to bring and honoring gift to the ceremony for the buffalo.
This can be anything from a monetary gift or anything useful for his care, nutrition and well-being (feed, salt, hay, supplements, etc. Tables will be set up for accepting the honoring gifts at the ceremony.
It is customary for the gift to be wrapped t in a red cloth. However, we will have a large buffalo vase at the ceremony entrance gate for money donations, and wrapping it in red cloth is not necessary.
The gift can be of your choice. Some suggestions we have made to others is: Pendleton Blanket, Star Quilt, and of course, a monetary gift is always very appreciated to help with the feed and up-keep of 'Lightning'.
We have also provided a Donate button on our website if you would like to make a donation.

We were out riding through the herd on May 11th, at approx. 9:30 PM to look at 'Lightning's' brother, 'Red Cloud' born earlier that day. Lightning's mother was bagged at that time, however the herd was circling around her to move us away, so we rode off on our horses. We checked on her later that night before going to bed, approx. 11:30 PM, but she was still standing up with the herd. Arby saw 'Lightning' the next morning at 7 AM, laying in the grass, beside his mama, so all we know for sure is that he was born sometime during the night of May 12th, 2011 between 12 AM and 6 AM. He was dry when Arby went out to see him in the grass.
