The Powwow was a huge success with about 1,500 visitors, on Saturday 9/17/11. The weather was great and the 2 inches of rain on Friday night was perfect to settle the dust for Saturday’s Powwow.
We were honored to have every Native American dancing category represented, and the Aztec Dancers from Dallas put on two awesome performances. The Dakota Buffalo Concession Chuckwagon sold hundreds of buffalo burgers, buffalo hotdogs, frybread, and Indian tacos.
The next event scheduled is the Pipe Ceremony on Saturday, October 15th beginning at 4 PM. Lightning Medicine Cloud will be up for viewing by all visitors and guests of the ranch, however remember absolutely NO CAMERAS, NO VIDEOS, AND NO CELL PHONES ARE ALLOWED. Everyone is welcome to attend. Native Americans are welcome to bring their pipes for blessing and are encouraged to dress in full regalia for the ceremony. The Buffalo Concession Chuckwagon will be open for food and drink and any vendors wishing to set-up should call Arby Little Soldier at 903-450-1859.
